The Geelong Chess Club 2017 Grand Prix was open to all members. It awarded points based on the following formula:

| Minor Tournament | 6 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
Major Tournaments included all Championship Events; all remaining events were either Minor Tournaments, or Novelty Events (which accrued no Grand Prix points). See the relevant tournament pages for details.
