The Winter Rapid was a six round Swiss Tournament held on Friday 27th May and Friday 3rd June, 2016. It replaced the originally advertised Baroque Chess event.
Players were given 15 minutes each to complete all moves, with no time increments.
It attracted a good field of ten players – please see results below:
Friday 27th May – Rounds 1-3
The first three rounds saw good performances from both Nick Mcclaren and Jack Smith, putting them both within striking range of the lead. Kingsley Chung also played well, being unlucky to lose against Michael Sugrue in a technically drawn position.
